Premier Swim School of Greater Sacramento

LWSS is the premier swim school of the greater Sacramento area. Our custom built, indoor swim facilities offer a learn to swim experience like no other. Owner Anya Hall brings over 40 years of experience in the swim industry.

All classes are 30 minutes long.

Baby & Me: (2-16 mos)

Specially trained teachers guide swimmers through a series of songs and games designed to develop breath control, balance and buoyancy (the 3 B’s).

Skills Learned
All students will learn to submerge and float on their backs with support, as well as grasp the wall. They learn safety skills including underwater submersions, back floats, and grasping the wall are practiced. Goggles are encouraged and fins are introduced around 12 months.

Class Details

  • 1 caretaker and 1 baby
  • Student teacher ratio 6:1
  • Class length: 30 minutes, once per week

Toddler & Me: (16-36 mos)

Specially trained teachers guide swimmers through a series of songs and games designed to develop breath control, balance and buoyancy (the 3 B’s).

Skills Learned
All students will learn to submerge, kick, float on their backs with support, as well as hold onto and climb out at the wall.

Class Details

  • 1 caretaker and 1 baby
  • Student teacher ratio 6:1
  • Goggles and fins are encouraged for all toddlers.

Level 1: (Toddlers, Ages 3 & up)

Students with little to no swim experience learn the foundation of swimming:

  • Breath control
  • Balance and buoyancy (the 3 B’s)
  • Basic propulsion and climbing out on the wall
  • Goggles and fins are used at this level.

Your child should take this class if:

  • Child is fearful and/or nervous in the water
  • Child has never taken lessons

Level 2: (Toddlers, Ages 3 & up)

Students will further hone their 3 B’s and learn the following:

  • Adding sequential breathing, back swims and rollovers.
  • Various equipment, including fins and goggles are used at this level, but students graduate without the use of fins.

Requirement

  • My child is comfortable in the water.
  • My child can swim a short distance with his face in the water without assistance or floatation devices.

Level 3: (Ages 3 & up)

Students build on the skills learned from Level 2 by adding safety and endurance.
New skills include:

  • Blended breathing, treading and underwater swims.
  • Various equipment, including fins and goggles are used at this level, but no goggle swims are also required.

Requirement

  • My child can swim 16 feet dog paddle without assistance or floatation
    devices.
  • My child can breathe by himself while swimming dog paddle.
  • My child can swim 16 feet on his back without assistance or floatation
    devices.

Level 4: (Ages 3 & up)

Students will learn:

  • All four competitive strokes as well as underwater dolphin kicks.
  • Students earn 4 separate ribbons (one for each stroke).
  • Emphasis on proper, age appropriate technique.
  • Various equipment, including fins and goggles are used at this level.

Requirement

  • My child can swim basic freestyle.
  • My child can swim basic backstroke.
  • My child can swim to the bottom of a 4 foot pool and retrieve a toy
    without assistance.

Gold Medal Class: (Level 4 graduates)

Students will learn:

  • Swimming the length of the pool vs. width
  • Build endurance
  • Stroke technique
  • Flipturns
  • Walls/Streamline

Requirement:

  • Must have earned all 4 Level 4 ribbons
  • Able to swim all 4 competitive strokes legally
